What does it feel like to get what you want?

Your first answer might simply be “Good, of course.” But let’s look a little more closely.

Do we actually stop and let ourselves feel the emotions associated with the accomplishment? Or do we just shift our attention to the next goal/issue/problem and keep plugging away?

“Good” is vague; do we pay attention to how it really feels and welcome the emotions (which might include everything from overwhelming-tearful-joy to a simple-sense-of-contentment to pride to anxiety)?

Do we dampen the joy, pride, and gratitude with judgments like “I didn’t work hard enough” or “It might not last” or “I was silly to want that in the first place”?

Are you feeling “good” today?

Consider that in this very moment you are surrounded by the things that you’ve wanted that you’ve gotten. Your family, your career, your new iPhone, a reconnection with an old friend at a deeper level, etc. Yes, there might also be a flat tire, disappointing news, or that recurring issue you’re trying to fix in your life but consider that every day there is both evidence that you are accomplishing the things you desire in life as well as a pull towards the next challenge and or problem to solve. In Tiara we know that you always get to choose your focus.

So the logic is simple. Feeling good is an important element of living a fulfilling life you enjoy. Getting what you want feels good. Today you have things in your life that you’ve wanted. You can feel good today.

Share with us: What do you see in your life that you have that you’ve always wanted and gotten? How does that make you feel? How does focusing on fulfilled desires affect your day today?

I consider myself a Sunday child. I have manifested so many things in my life that have once really just have been a distant dream:
    - accomplished school in a way I wanted
    - work as a flight attendant during holiday’s
    - living abroad in South America and Africa
    - Having my own business
    - having a boy AND a girl
    - having a group of uplifting people around me like the Tiara’s
    - experiencing true love
    - riding in a convertible
    - having found a way to work again with my former beloved colleagues I had to miss because of a bankruptcy
    - having a view
-…….probably a LOT more. The thing is, Yeah, becoming present to all the manifrested good stuff makes me veel very, very good and, equally important, looking forward to tomorrows magic.

Great question, Betsy. I am going to go way back in my memory to answer this question . . . I have always wanted to own my own business. All through my career I have positioned myself as an entrepreneur even before the term was widely known or used. For example I would volunteer to be involved in a start-up division for the company, or move to a new city to launch a new product or office. And over the years I started several businesses on the side – although none of them ‘took’.

Today, I am a partner in 2 great businesses and truly love what I do and the impact I have on so many levels. I get to do something new and different just about every day. When we succeed at a task it provides a high like no other I’ve known. And it makes me feel good.

SO, I feel like I’ve been on this journey for almost 30 years – and your question has made me realize I can stop attempting to be an entrepreneur and just be one. I’ve gotten what I wanted. And I LOVE it! It’s exciting, challenging, rewarding, thrilling, and at times feels a bit dangerous — and I love it all.
    Thanks for asking!
